RCF, short for 'Recycled Composite Furniture', offers some distinct advantages over traditional timber made products. Our products are suitable for a vast array of situations, such as residential gardens, public parks, play areas for children, schools, pubs & restaurants, tourist sites, golf courses, road signage, car parking areas, and more.
The main advantages of RCF products
RCF does not rot or degrade with age
RCF does not require any painting or chemical treatment prior to use
RCF is tough, durable and strong – will not crack or dry and is resistant to attacks by insects
RCF is more resistant to graffiti due to its surface
RCF can easily be designed for use in conjunction with other materials
Environmental benefits of RCF products
Eco Friendly – RCF is produced using 100% recycled polythene
Realistic alternative to Hardwood
Long lasting – In the marine environment RCF has a lifespan of at least ten times the timber alternative
Fully recyclable – Can be fully recycled at the end of its use
Completely inert – RCF will not leach any chemical
RCF products are uniquely manufactured from 100% recycled waste agricultural polythene films. The waste film is mostly used silage wrap and is recovered from farms through the UK and Ireland. It is this feedstock that gives RCF products the exceptional strength properties which are far superior to its competitors.
The environmental credentials for all RCF products are without parallel. The collected waste agricultural films are recycled into plastic pellets and re-manufactured into RCF at BPI Recycled Products ES 14001 accredited factory in Dumfries. This is the only factory in the UK capable of recycling these waste materials. RCF does not rot, splinter, discolour or degrade with age. It is maintenance free, is resistant to most chemicals and can itself be fully recycled at the end of it's working life.
